Macau was geographically divided into three regions: the peninsula (Macau Peninsula - 澳門半島 O Mun Pun To) and two islands (Taipa 氹仔 Tam Chai and Coloane 路環 Lou Wan). However, reclamation of the area between Taipa and Coloane has created the fourth region of Cotai (路氹 Lou Tam).
