Jewels Of Islam Description

Jewels of Islam is a group which started up in 2012. It's purpose was for not just Muslim Women but women of other Faiths to come together and understand the True Meaning of Islam and break the stigma surrounding Muslims.
The name of the group Jewels of Islam represents the 12 Principles of Islam which are, Knowledge, Wisdom, Understanding, Freedom, Justice, Equality, Food, Clothing, Shelter, Love , Peace and Happiness.

Over the years by representing the principles of Islam we have strengthened our relationship with our local residents as well as the NHS, Police, Schools, MP's, MSP's, Local Councillors, Interfaith and other Community Organisations.
Our biggest achievements so far have been raising funds for Philippines, Race for Life, Syria, Local Mosque, Feed the World Campaign, Local Foodbank and helping a dying woman find a family for her daughter. For our youth we have set up a group called GEMS , Giving Every Muslim A Say.

The last 3 yrs have been most testing but its what pushes you to suceed.
The Biggest Barrier has to be the lack of acceptance from within our own Muslim Community. Its not often you see a Group of Muslim Women working to make a difference without a male presence.
Another Big Barrier how can they Represent Islam if they dont wear Hijab?
How Can They Promote Islam when they know nothing themselves?
