Data Log for Microsoft Band Description
Data stream from the Microsoft Band can be stored to the SD card in the background.Once 'Display & Log' is enabled, the data stream is stored to the SD card.
This app can then be placed in the background, data will continuously be captured and stored.
Displays and Stores MS Band's data:
Acceleration, Rotation, Heart Rate, Skin Temperature & Contact status, UV Index, Calorie, Pedometer and Distance Trackers.
Requirement: Microsoft Health app & MS Band must be installed and synchronized correctly.
Exported data is in CSV (Comma Separated Values) that you can import into your spreadsheet and do your analysis. Location of the data should appear under a folder "MSBandDataLogger" on your external SD card.
Each sensor data is under it's name and the date it was stored. Switching between metric/imperial units will generate a new header within the CSV file. See screen shot of the files stored. Use your favorite file explorer to view them. Files may not appear if the phone is attached to your PC when you captured the data until you reattach to the PC.
Release notes:
1 - Does not check if you have space - so not much error checking. Some quirks needs to be worked on still but the data displayed is stored.
2 - Note that the Distance, Pedometer & Calorie trackers are running totals. It is counted from initial power up. Only a factory reset will zero out those numbers.
3 - 16ms sample rate time stamp is from the band and is not consistent
4 - leave a feedback: what you would like next? Update the GUI, store all data into a Single Master CSV file or work on a Widget (heart beat, steps, etc)? Will take a few weeks.
Permission usage:
1 For storage of settings and CSV files to the SD card:
•modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
•read the contents of your USB storage
2 Connection to the band:
•pair with Bluetooth devices
3 Google Analytics (tracking of crashes&etc):
•read phone status and identity
•full network access
•view network connections
